switching from tungesten e to treo 600

I was using a tungesten and just got a treo 600 (verizon). I installed the new software and performed a hot sync. Contacts and Calendar did not sync. They are in my palm desk top but will not sync to the palm. When I try to open palm desktop now, it tells me that it cannot open the datebook, address, memo databases. I selected the same user name for both devices and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software. All other programs seemed to have synced fine. Not sure what else to try. Thanks
