Treo 600 battery replacement
I get my Treo 600 from a friend last month. It is an early 600 with permanent soldered battery. Battery shown early sign of not holding charge because it lost about 2 percent of battery power daily even when it is off. My question is where and who/vendor can I get battery replaced without sending it back to Palm or Cingular. It is an unlock GSM cingular 600. Sending them back to Cingular might get it locked again. Thanks for any enlightment.

The Treo is never truly off, as battery power is required to keep the memory active. As a result, it will continue to use a small amount of power when the screen is not on. Also, all of the 600's had permanent batteries.

Treo 600 battery replacement
Thanks Ben .
Thanks for the excellent enlightment. The other facts that I failed to mention are at 35% power the phone would drop calls the minute it rings on a call coming in. Checking on ebay battery supplier doesn't give me enough confidence that they are for real. May be it is a 3 yrs old rechareable equipment and I should solved my problem by constantly keeping it charged everyday. Care to comment on it?
Best regards,

The device needs a new battery. Re the Ebay thing, what is the user feedback - if it is high, I would not hesitate. The batteries used in the Treo series do not develop a bad case of memory and do very well with repeated charging throughout the day.
When I had my 600, it was in use from 5A to 9P and fed throughout the day. The device was charged from about 9P to 4:45A. There were times those feedings lasted five minutes and other times an hour or so, but were done frequently and as a result, the level never got too low - I got two years out of one battery and when the battery starts acting up, the device becomes very unstable.
The 700p I have now is charged over night and whenever I am in the car. When I am out of the car, the device is heavily used and can get as low as 60%. When it hits that level, I am normally back in the car and it gets charged back to the middle 70's to high 80's. I make extensive use of email (ChatterEmail), HanDBase (hours of it) and Documents To Go (about 1.5 hours with it). Hence, I pay close attention to battery life.
