Treo 600 - Palm Desktop and Sync'g Memo's

heyas,
I really don't understand what the Palm Desktop application is for.
Is it basically where I can do all my memos and such on the desk top and then sync them to my phone?
If so, how do I sync the memos I created to the phone?
I'm darned if I can work it out and I'm all googled out now!

hi tasha,

yes that's what palm desktop is for. you can hotsync from the phone to the desktop and vice versa, but in order to hotsync, you have to start hotsynk manager. right click the icon in the icon tray and select usb, serial, etc. go back and click setup to configure when hs mgr starts up.
right click again and select custom to choose the direction of the sync process and set defaults.

plug hs cable into pda and press button.

Thank you for your answer.
It all makes sense and I followed through with what you said to do.
Although, there is nothing in the Palm Desktop except 1 memo I made as an example and nothing else.
Shouldn't it have all my addresses in there and everything else on my phone?
Something is just matching up right.
Maybe the sync name is not right?
Very mysterfied now
Any suggestions for that?

make sure the you are using the correct user name, then start the hotsync mgr and right click the icon. select custom and for addresses/contacts choose "handheld overwrites desktop" and see if that works. do you get a hotsync log at the end of the process and, if so, do you get any errors?
