The last few weeks have been very odd. The initial launch of the Treo 600 was filled with shortages. It seemed they couldn't manufacture enough 600's to meet demand. This went on for weeks. During the holidays, Amazon was offering the 600 at $249 (after rebates). This makes sense since Amazon is using the price leader and there is paperwork to get that $249 price. However, Amazon never had stock. It still exists today. Yet, Amazon is now out of stock and selling at a $399 with rebates. Either someone at Palm isn't thrilled with Amazon's pricing or could there still be a shortage? Is the shortage planned to clear inventory for a new 610. Certainly, I'm hoping for the latter.
Just musings for the Tuesday morning. Weigh in if you have any insight or opinions.
