Exclamation trouble with minitones (new treo owner)

I just got my treo 600 today. I want to be able to play mp3 for my ringtones. I was able to download minitones, it opens and finds the mp3 on my memory card. I click add selected (only one song) it opens up the add window, I rename the file and trim it to 1:00 when I push add it restarts my phone and wants to connect to the internet. I check the different tones and my mp3 is nowhere to be found. It restarts wether I rename the file or not I also tried not trimming it and still get the same results. Any ideas?

Minitones itself does not connect to the data system. Restarting of the phone causes it to what to connect with the data system. Have you attempted this with a different MP3 file to play with? and another question, how much free memory do you have? CallFilter for the 600 is an excellent application and is designed to allow you to use files stored on the card, not on the device. This results in memory that can be used for more important functions.

The problem though with CallFilter is that it is abandonware - there is no support from Rob, the developer, and he still charges for it - not a cheap application. Other applications to look at are RingCare and and CallBlock.

I decided to try Ringo instead of putting any more time into trying to figure out why I couldn't get the other app to work. So far so good. I had quite a bit of free memory. Only app I had on the phone except for the ones it came with out of the box, and a 128mb memory card.

Glad it is working for you. Before purchasing it, give the competition a try also. Ben

Just a bit of FYI...MiniTones doesn't work on the 600. It will cause it to soft-reset.
