Unlocked Treo 600 from Ebay & Cingular Wireless - Treo Forums

Hi Everyone--new to the forums. I've been waiting for something like the Treo 600 for ages--cell phone, PDA, & camera all in one. My pockets are currently stuffed with the gadgets I have to lug around. I am considering purchasing a Treo 600 off of Ebay cause it looks like I can get one for around $350.

I plan on then turning around and selling off my cell phone and Tungsten T3 to cover the cost and basically break even. The issue I have is with moving my cell phone SIM card over to the Treo.

I currently have Cingular service through a friends & family plan (my wife is the primary account holder). We don't want to have to 'reset' and start a new plan because all of the new plans are WAY more expensive than what we have right now.

Has anyone tried to do this? Just move your SIM card over to a Treo 600 while using Cingular service? Were you successful in doing this? I don't use any of the special phone features--just calls to the wife and work calls. Don't need call waiting, messaging, internet or anything. I just want a basic cell phone out of the Treo.

I had no problem with a Treo 600 moving an older chip to the new phone.

Just move your sim chip from your current phone and put it into the new phone. I have about 30 GSM phones and all I do is move my sim from one phone to another. Cingular does not even have to know. As far as they know I am still using a Motorola V60g.

had no problems here just moved sim chip over and copied my contacts over to treo that was it

hey bro,
i just got my treo 600 over ebay as well, its unlocked and i had blackberry with tmobile service, i just transfered my simcard to my treo and everything was perfect, as long as the treo is really UNLOCKED there shouldn't be any problem.

unlocked for 350.00 is not bad but search for more, you can get one for less than 300 brand new and unlocked. i will let you know if the person i know locally still have more unlocked treos, he's selling them for cheap prices.
