updating without hotsync
Hi,
I recently purchased a 2nd hand treo600. Turns out sync cable wasn't included. Is there a way to install programs and such without the hotsyncing- i do have an mmc card- i've put the .pdb files on it, but they don't even come up on the phone.
anyone any suggestions?
Cheers

You should invest in a sync cable and it is necessary for everyday use.
You can find an assortment of Sync Cable choices in the store.

Thanks for the fast reply.
A sync cable is on its way- but i was hoping for a solution in the meantime- as it might take a while. These .pdb files i need to get working is so i can simply sms with my phone- as it turns out there's an unfortunate glitch with smsing when using Orange (NL) network with the 600.

How about emailing the files to yourself?

thanks chris, but i haven't actually got the whole emailing and internet thing sussed out with my network provider yet.
Anyways, about the idea of installing straight from the expansion card. i've been using resco explorer. Sometimes some apps work and some work for a little while. I'm not sure what i'm really doing i think.
-I can only seem to copy the apps to the RAM folder where i can launch them.
-After deleting the program in the applications- i still find remains in the RAM folder.
-Am i messing things up- b'cuz i can't fully remember what files were there already and what files i've put.
-When performing hot-sync (with cable) from pc, what actually happens- which files goto which folder?
Cheers,
Xav

I sync my treo with the IR port on my laptop. No cables required and it works like a charm.
