What OS, processor & speed are 600? 650? Tungsten ?

I have a Treo 600 and have a number of questions about Palms... hoepfully someone will help me out.

1 - What Palm OS does it have in it?
- What is the OS revision number?
- Is it the Cobalt or Garnet OS ?
- What to click to see version in my Treo?
- How to upgrade my OS?

2 - What processor is in my Treo 600?

3 - Is Cobalt the newest OS?

4 - Any Palm devices with Cobalt OS available?

5 - What is the most powerful Palm on the market?

6 - Are the Tungsten Palm's only PDA's and not phones ?

Hey there...I'll try to answer some of those questions.

- Is it the Cobalt or Garnet OS ?
Not sure, I'm guessing Garnet.
My 650 is garnet v5.4.8

- What to click to see version in my Treo?
Go the the app 'browser', app menu, info, then tap version.

- How to upgrade my OS?
The OS? Not sure...you can upgrade the ROM, though.
Updated ROMS are available at Palm.com

2 - What processor is in my Treo 600?
144 MHz ARM Processor
(650 -> 312Mhz)

3 - Is Cobalt the newest OS?
Yes, it's OS 6, as far as I know.

4 - Any Palm devices with Cobalt OS available?
I don't think so, I'm not seeing any on Palm's site.

Depends on what you consider 'powerful'.
Powerful as in fastest processor? Storage?
I'd have to guess the 'LifeDrive' unit.
416Mhz Processor & 4GB storage is my guess...

6 - Are the Tungsten Palm's only PDA's and not phones ?
I believe so, I don't see a phone one on the Palm site.

Just to add;
Garnet is PalmOS 5 and all its variants.

Cobalt will NOT be availiable for any PalmOS device to update to as development on it has ceased with the PalmSource acquisition by Access Technologies. They are working on a new OS, but chances that the 600 will see an update are nill. Its not produced by Palm any more and is basically a dead item (unless u are like me and can find new things to do with it on occasion )
