Default Won't send or receive beam

My new Treo 600 won't send or receive via beam. I've tried soft and warm resets and am trying to avoid the drastic action of a hard reset. I have a couple of third-party applications installed that I've used for years on other devices without any problem and I REALLY don't want to have to live without them. Thanks for any help.

Have you tried to uninstall the third party apps and see if it is them that is causing your treo not to be able to beam.

Try uninstalling the apps with Uninstall manger, it will take away all the little bits that sometimes get left behind, then if that's the problem, reinstall the apps one at a time and you'll see which one may be causing the problem.

Default beam

Hello Jodido,

This is Kevin from palmOne. Also, if you're having trouble beaming, here are a few basic tips to keep in mind, just in case:

# Maintain about 6 inches to 1 yard (approximately 10 cm to 1 m) between the handhelds. Make sure the path between the two devices is clear of obstacles. Note: This range is for palmOne products. Other Palm OS devices may vary.

# Keep IR ports clean.

# If you're in direct sunlight, move into shade.

# Move the devices closer or farther, and vary the angle between them.

# If your batteries are low, replace or recharge them.

# Make sure you have free memory at least equal to the size of the item you are attempting to beam.

# Perform a soft reset.

# Try deleting any third party system hacks you may have installed.

# Some applications cannot be beamed; you'll see a lock icon next to the name of non-beamable applications.

Sincerely
Kevin
