"1 New Voice message" will not go away!!
I just got a treo 650 and i powered it up and at it said "1 new voice message" and it will not go away even though i do not have any new voice messages. I have tried both hard and soft resets and no luck. Any ideas?

Try this ...
I had the same problem a while back and I cleared the Voicemail from a landline phone and it worked for me! I hope it works for you too!

Menu, Options, Phone Preferences. There is a button there labeled Clear Voicemail Icon.

The Menu button is just to the right of the 5-way, above the Messaging button.

Simple: leave yourself a message from another phone. Then access your voice mail from your Treo and delete the message. Your icon will go away.
I had this happen a couple of times. It's your wireless carrier's glitch, not your Treo.

My Verizon Treo 650 has no such option. What model/carrier do you have?

I have the Cingular Treo 650,
I just called left a message erased it from my phone it is still there. I then Called and left two messages and the phone will say "you have 2 new voice messages" but on the Voicemail button it says "Voicemail 1" It will not display more than one.
So i tried erasing the messages from another phone and the voicemail icon in the upper menu bar dissappeared but thats it still says it. Mind you I have done hard and soft resets many times. this is driving me nuts haha

I hope you haven't pulled out too much hair, but "Voicemail 1" does not mean "You have 1 voicemail message." You're looking at the top of the Favorites panel. It means that the "1" key is the Quick Key to dial voicemail. Hold it down and see.
That little arrow at the bottom center means you can use the 5-way key to scroll down and look at more Favorites. Move to any Favorite, go to Menu > Record > Edit Favorites Button... and its info appears. You can assign any Favorite a Quick Key, but voicemail's Quick Key is set to 1 and can't be changed.
