    Default 128mb?

I just bought a 128mb card for $25.00(hope I didn't get ripped off..lol) my question is, for someone who is just starting out with the 650, is this a pretty good size card for now? and is there a way to move the stuff from this card to another card if and when I do upgrade?

    Thx

It all depends on what you're planning to put on the card. If you're going to play around with mp3s and videos, 128MB will fill up in a hurry. But it's pretty simple to copy data to a new card, and prices keep getting lower if you do need to buy a bigger one.

for twice that amount almost you could have gotten a 2gb card from ebay. i bought a 2gb on ebay for 65 bucks and that is alot bigger than 128 in my book, but if all you plan to do is have 3-5 mp3's and a few ebooks then you are ok. but no movies and such on there. i use mine to watch full blown movies on it and i love it.

well there goes $25.00 bucks!!! LOL... i checked prices on Google, but had no clue in terms of what space is equal to what. so in the long run a 2gb card is the way to go?

but one other thing. i bought 128, but when i insert it, it says like 121 free. where did the rest of it go?

you might want to format the card first and then insert i, sometimes it uses space for folders and such on there.. but if it is used then you have no idea what they left on it so just reformat it and be done. yeah i went to radio shack and bought my wife a 1gb card for 59.00 with 2 8buck rebates on it so 59.00 minus 16 is what 43 bucks ? keyword here bro EBAY it has anything you want. i bought some stuff from the treo store here screen protectors and the headset adapter and all..

Default If it fits, wear it.

Hey, if you are good with your 128MB SD card, then that's all that matters. I have had my Treo since about Christmas and I thought I'd outgrow my 256MB card (that I already had when I bought the Treo), but I haven't. Don't get me wrong, I would love to be able to put more stuff on there, but I've never felt it was important enough to even take the time or money to go out and buy a 1 or 2 GB card.

So, if you are doing fine with a 128MB card, cool. If you need, in the near future, to get a bigger one, no biggie. You definitely didn't waste $25.

i agree i wasnt trying to make him feel bad for his purchase. but in the sme respect i hate to see people being taken advantage of by others. that person should have let the card go cheaper but they didnt so oh well you cant do anything more about it. and if he is happy then i agree let him be. sorry if i sounded like i was dogging him...

Use the 128 and when you need more, go to eBay and look for 1 or 2 gb cards and see what's available. Funny story - I just got my 650 and wanted to get a 2gb card (MP3's!). I tried eBay for a few days and it was frustrating. The prices would rocket in the final 2 minutes. Fry's had a Sandisk for $70 after rebate on Friday, but I forgot they did not do AMEX and did not have cash when I got there. Back to eBay - bid on a 1gb card which got to $42. After the bidding, I was taken to "more from this seller" and got a 1gb Sandisk for "buy iy now" @ $38! The fools bidding on his cards actually paid MORE than the sellers "buy it now" price!

Maybe the 128 will be ok, but if you need more, snoop around eBay. The prices are dropping in 2-3 month timeframes. What cost $70 now will probably be $50 in 2-3 more months.

Yeah, now that the 4GB cards are out, prices are going to get lower and lower.
