    Default They say in January

I walked in to the Cingular store in Irvine (Jamboree/Irvine Blvd.) to consider buying a Blackberry. The sales rep helped me compare the Blackberry to the Treo and based solely on the monthly charges I landed on trying out the Treo.

The way I understand it is, for $19.99 you can add unlimited data on your Treo. For the Blackberry you need to add the $49.99 Xpress Mail plus the Media program for another fee to have net access. Either way it cost more for the Blackberrry.

Once I landed on the Treo and mentioned I was using a Mac, the sales rep told me she uses a Mac and her brother has the Treo 600 and syncs it with his OSX Mac.

Then she said, "Can you wait until January?" She told me they are getting the new Treo 650 in January and I should wait. So I did.

    Default Sprint v Cingular

I believe Sprint's charge for unlimited data transfer is cheaper...first two months are free and I believe after that the montly charge is $10. I believe Sprint has better data transfer capabilities in general. ATT/Cingular will have GSM thus useful in Europe I believe, while Sprint/Nextel doesn't....from what I understand.

I walked into a Cingular store last night and the sales rep said, "The rumour is the 650 will be out by the endof January". I hope it is true.

    Default Long Wait

I live in Suffolk County, Long Island, and just called two local Cingular stores. The first said the latest information they have received is that the 650 won't be in until March. The second said she hasn't received any information at all. The only good thing about that is maybe they will have fixed the memory problem by then.
