Unless I am mistaken (which is pretty often) my initial response would be no. The Treo is not equipped with a "push to talk function" that you find on many other cell phones. Even if it was, then you would only be able to communicate with other "push to talk" enabled cell phones on the same carrier (verizon to verizon, sprint to sprint, nextel to nextel, etc...). You wouldn't be able to talk with two way radio operating on FRS/GMRS via a cell phone. Technically, cellular systems operate in the 824 Megahertz(MHz) to 894MHz frequency bands; PCS operates in the 1850MHz to 1990MHzbands. FRS/GMRS operates in the 462MHz to 467MHZ band. |
