650 syn problems

I just bought a used 650 on ebay. I installed the software from plam and now I have the palm desktop and quick install. I can sync things like ebooks, etc from the pc to the palm but I can't sync the calanders, tasks, or contacts using palm desktop. Do I need to activate the phone first with verizon? Do I really need a data plan to perform these functions? Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?

Welcome to ET isis. Go to palm.com and support and type in Solution ID: 2630 and it should take you to a knowledge base article on checkiung you hot sync settings. Follow the directions and you should be able to get it working if you are still having problems get bac with us and we'll help you work through it and get going with your treo.

Thanks. I figured it out from reading a different thread about a similar problem using the 700 with Verizon. I had to change the Verizon wireless sync connection. For others with this issue see: "HotSync automatically disabled by Verizon Wireless Sync, can't enable in HotSync Manager"
