650 with wireless sync BUG....

The new Treo 650 does not work with wireless sync if you have had another wireless sync device in the past. I got the 650 on monday, that night I went to setup wireless sync and it crashed my 650. After an hour and half with tech support they told me my device was defective. I went yesterday swapped it out with a new 650. Well needless to say it did the day dam thing. I called back into them and after about and hour and half or troubleshooting again, there appears to be a bug with wireless sync. I think i should of stayed with the 600 but the 650 has some nice features. I was told it would take a month or two before it was resolved. The work around is versamail Just an FYI for those of you before you spend the 5 bills on the phone.

im pretty sure its not a bug when it crashes after a sync..if you are using the same username from your treo600 to the 650 you could perform a hardreset then either make a new username or delete the backup folder from your current username..or you could always call verizon AND tell them to TRANSFER you to palmone tech support they always know better...

Generally speaking you can follow the upgrade by the Palm path,

You want to tell it that it is a 'NEW DEVICE'. You can hotsync over your old stuff, but when it comes to Wireless Sync, you ALWAYS tell it NEW DEVICE.

Otherwise it will force the Treo600 stuff down your throat.

The Treo 600 software is _NOT_ compatable with the Treo650.

It will cause an infinite loop if you do it wrong.
