That's not true.

The ACT! Link 2.0 has always worked with the Palm Products with ACT! 6.0. What didn't work up until about 3 weeks ago is ACT! 2005. There's now an updated version of ACT! Link. Don't know what the version number is.

I have ACT! 6.0 installed and both the Treos we have in my company are synching just fine.

I don't know how it works with ACT! 2005 because I haven't done the upgrade on that yet.

Let me know what problems you're having. I thought I posted some kind of guidance before on this subject, but can't remember how specific they were.

Default Phone Dialer & Telephony

Dialing and emailing from ACT contacts. This does not seem to work in ACT 2005. Do I need to upgrade to 2006? I 'm also using the trial version of Palm OS. Help!

when you say it doesn't dial or email from within ACT!, are you talking about on the Treo, or within ACT! on your PC?

I have no trouble dialing from the contacts that are on my Treo that were synchronized from ACT!. I do have a slight problem with email, as I've described in another post. I have to delight the "descriptive" name of the person from the email address and leave just the address.

you say? When you select a contact from the contact listing, the email address comes up (something like this) "[Christopher W. Tipper] ChristopherT@HunterBenefits.com." I have to delete the part that's in the brackets.

If you're talking about from your PC, I have no idea about the phone dialing part, but the email works fine. I did end up having to upgrade to Outlook 2003 to get them to talk to each other though -- ACT! and Outlook on the PC that is.

The bottom line is you don't need to upgrade to ACT! 2006 to work with the Treo.

What's this trial version of Palm you're talking about?

System Tools or Repair problem with act 1.01 + update

We appear to be having a compatability problem maybe you could help with. The problem is on the Treo itself.

When the green phone icon is pressed it took you to the phone option. However, after installing act for palm 1.01 + the hot fix, when ever the green phone button is pressed it takes you to ACT not the phone app. I have looked into the Treo pref and the button says it's programmed for the phone and can not be changed.

Any ideas what's going on?

do you mean it takes you to Contacts?
I don't actually have ACT! loaded on my 650
I'm just using the link to synch between ACT! on my PC and Contacts on my Treo.

System Tools or Repair

When the Green phone key is pressed, it takes me directly to act for palm with a list of contacts instean of the phone app.

I have also been having problems with the app itself! When entering a task in act for palm, editing a contact and some other things, the phone reboots when you choose done, OK or cancel within the app!

So, do you have this ACT for Palm loaded on your Palm?
When you press the Home button, does it show up there as an application?
If so, I think you should uninstall it and use the ACT! Link 2.0
That doesn't show up as an application on the Palm

When you press the Home button and then select the Phone option, what happens? Is it the same thing as pressing the phone button?

Also, I can't imagine how you're syncing your personal contacts in Outlook and your company contacts in ACT.

Are you going in to the Hot Sync manager and turning off the conduits each time? It won't sync right if you have both the Outlook and the ACT conduits going at the same time.

Hunter,

This works on a Palm Vx.

>>So, do you have this ACT for Palm loaded on your Palm?
tg:yes

>>When you press the Home button, does it show up there as an application?
tg:yes

>>If so, I think you should uninstall it and use the ACT! Link 2.0
>>That doesn't show up as an application on the Palm
tg:Then I lose the funtionality of act on the palm and have to go to the palm tg:application which are not integrated.

>>When you press the Home button and then select the Phone option, what >>happens? Is it the same thing as pressing the phone button?
tg: it goes to the phone app. that's how we get to it right now.
tg: no, the phone button goes to palm act.

>>Also, I can't imagine how you're syncing your personal contacts in Outlook >>and your company contacts in ACT.
tg: one is a sync between the palm apps and outlook. the other is a sync tg:between act and the palm act app. two different applications.

There is nothing on the act web site other than to download the update and the hot fix for Act for Palm version 1.01.
