when you say it doesn't dial or email from within ACT!, are you talking about on the Treo, or within ACT! on your PC?
I have no trouble dialing from the contacts that are on my Treo that were synchronized from ACT!. I do have a slight problem with email, as I've described in another post. I have to delight the "descriptive" name of the person from the email address and leave just the address.

you say? When you select a contact from the contact listing, the email address comes up (something like this) "[Christopher W. Tipper]
ChristopherT@HunterBenefits.com." I have to delete the part that's in the brackets.
If you're talking about from your PC, I have no idea about the phone dialing part, but the email works fine. I did end up having to upgrade to Outlook 2003 to get them to talk to each other though -- ACT! and Outlook on the PC that is.
The bottom line is you don't need to upgrade to ACT! 2006 to work with the Treo.
What's this trial version of Palm you're talking about?
