Annoying couple of things - easy fix?
These are probably easy fixes for you 650 veterans. I just got mine a few days ago. I really love it so far!
Here are my issues - maybe I need a third party program to fix them.
1. The keyboard no longer lights up. The first day or two that I had it, the keyboard was lit up all the time it seemed. Now it is always dark. I would like for it to be lit up whenever I am using the Treo for anything.
2. How can I disable the keyboard when the phone is ringing? What happens is, my realtor calls and I take the phone out of the leather holster, and when I look at the screen, the call is already activated and the caller is just waiting for me to say hello. I think it is because I am bumping the SPACE key when I remove the phone from the holder. I checked it, and hitting the SPACE key does answer an incoming call. It seems like it only happens when my realtor calls, but I may be imagining that since she has called me a lot in the last few days.
Any ideas are appreciated.

Not sure about #1 - have you added any software that might be doing that?
#2: Not much you can do without adding either TreoGuard or Butler to your Treo. I'm sure there are other apps out there that can do the same thing, maybe even for free. Anyone?

Hi Scott:
1) Not sure this can be controlled by the user. I believe that is built in to the firmware. Before you add more software, the OP's question is a good one...Did you add anything recently? You should possibly try a soft reset to see if that helps.
2) Have you tried the built-in Keyguard function? I believe the problem you are having is why Palm provides it.
Let us know....

Hi Scott,
I'll have a go at #1. Is this a new development, of has your Treo always done this? Your term "no longer" suggests it's new, but make sure an app called Keyshades isn't installed. It kills the keyboard backlight.
You can try Twilight, which can set the keyboard to an "always on" state, to see if there's a software issue (in which case it should work) or a hardware issue (in which case it won't). If the latter, I hope your 650's still under warrantee.
Good luck!

Thanks to all - I have downloaded a program called KBLights, and it solved the keyboard light issue.

Aside from the keyguard or similar programs that lock the Treo, I'd suggest checking out another holster case that won't cause this accidental spacebar pressing. Of course, I understand that it seems silly and expensive to get a new case, but sometimes you may find that something else may be better.
