I'm new to the treo 650, just got it a couple days ago....but with this aim service , just wanted to make sure that it's all free??

I believe it should be. You'll just need to have data service.

I just installed Toccer and it seems to work pretty well. However, it did crash my phone twice. The first time was when it was trying to connect to the server, and I cant really remember what I was doing the second time.

Well, I use Agile Messenger. Its free, not fancy, and although I am not a heavy user of such programs, it always works well for me.
Profiles for AIM, ICQ, MSN, and Yahoo . . .

Does Agile Messenger allow you to be signed-on to AIM and Yahoo! simultaneously?

I just answered my own question. Downloaded and tried it... and it's nice in that you CAN have both AIM and Yahoo! accounts on the same app. However, I experienced the following problems/issues:

1. Not all of my AIM buddies showed up as online. And I know they are, because they are there when I log on with Toccer and/or my laptop

2. It relies on the stylus (or tiny fingers, hehe) to call the buddy-related actions (like sending them an IM, showing their info, etc.)

Could be because the Palm version is in Beta right now, but those problems are a bit of a deal-killer for me.
