Anyone with a Verizon Treo 650
just trying to find out if verizon is tryin to scam me or not...verizon told me that with a 650 i need to either buy a $45 per month package for the internet or put a block on it so my phone cant access the internet...problem is, somethin is screwed up and my phone wont work with the block on, it will only pick up a signal if the block is off..verizon tells me that without the block or the plan, my phone can access the internet by itself without a cutoff time and my bill would be outragous if my phone connected without me knowing.. ive heard it is more like a scam...i dont need the internet and i wont ever get on it, so does anyone have a treo without the package or the block??

I did not put a block on my phone and I have not purchased an internet plan. I did send a picture to someone one night, and then again the next morning. My bill showed two 24 hour charges for online usage -- apparently the line stayed open both times I sent the picture. I was successful in getting the charges taken off; however, this proves that it is possible to have accidents. That's why Verizon suggests putting a block on. But I have not had any problems since -- I'm just careful -- and Verizon has never told me I MUST put the block on. Hope this helps.
