AOL AIM on Treo 650

I upgraded from the 600, which by the way had a very intutive AIM interface, and now on the 650 my IM's no longer pop-up when they are sent and to reply I need to long on to the internet (taking 30-60 seconds) which before I never had to do. Whats up with this? Does anyone else have ideas about this? I downloaded the $20 app for my 600 and it worked great, but they havent updated for the new phone yet... any help?
