Your network( service provider ) also serioulsly determins your battery life. CDMA(VERIZON) is always connected to the network, whereas GSM(SPRINT, CINGULAR) checks-in every once in a while, thus saving battery life.

I currently have a 600 and am thinking about buying a 650 to replace it. Will my SIM card from my 600 work in the 650 as well. I have Cingular GSM (GPRS) and the service for the most part is very good. I live in CA so there are a lot of cell sites around.

Thank you for the quick reply. I think I know, but what actually is the difference between a "Locked" and "Unlocked" phone?

    Default T-Mobile 650?

    Hey-
Any word/idea/rumors about T-Mobile weighing in with a 650 or next gen. Treo? Thinking of switching but can't give up my Treo...would rather not pay for the unlocked version...? Any wisdom?

Unlocked phone can be used anywhere in the world with any GSM network carrier.
Whereas locked phone can only be used with a particular GSM network carrier.

Iam in the same boat! I have 180 and I want to get 650.
Heard that T-mobile will release 650 soon. well, this was 6 months ago!
I guess I will wait couple of months. If not, Cingular would be lucky!!

Sprint Treo owners have higher IQ's than Cingular Treo owners.

It's a fact. I read it online someplace. Like, umm, the line above this!
