I'm with Chris, the sites are looking great. I've thought about blogging, but with everything I have going on these days, I think updates would be few and far between. It's nice to see blogs put to a useful purpose rather than the "look at how tough my life is" blogs that seem to dominate the community.
I have finally caved in and joined the blog crowd. I think it'll be fun to have a diary of "stuff". I don't expect many will read it, but I see it as an outlet to have a little fun. I spend so much time here that it's nice to write mundane stuff about Katharine Losing American Idol, etc. I'm going to keep light. First things first, I'll have to read Duke's knowledgebase article "Can I blog from a Treo" and get my 700p on board...when it finally arrives.

If for nothing else, I really enjoy theme I selected! I'm going to mess with the colors as it's just a bit too bright for my taste. I think I may pickup a book on the topic. As much as I know about the Internet, I'm still a bit green when it comes to all the blog language.

Nice looking theme Chris! and by the way, I appreciate the link! Also, placed yours in my blogroll! I tested many Blog apps before settling on wordpress! IMHO, that is by far your best bet! Now to add you to my quick news, so I can read your blog from my Treo!

This is well worth the $18.50 he is asking for it IMHO, which makes "Free" even better! It will turn your Radio off at a given time, with a silent or sound of your choice. It will turn it back on. It will grab the weather at a certain time, and supports mulitple cities. You can visit his site for all the particulars!

So I was putting together a videocast of some of my favorite apps for the Treo, and visited the Developers web site and noticed that once again, he is offering this app free for anyone who blogs about it! Its still one of my favorite applications for the Treo and thought I would bump this thread back up to the top!

Earlier today I submitted a feature request for two things I'd like to see in Treo Alarm:
  1. One-time alarms. I'd like to be able to set an alarm that triggers once, then disables itself.
  2. Along with #1, I'd like to be able to set alarms to go off at preset intervals, like 1 hour from now. Say, I drop my car off for a tune-up, and they tell me it will be ready in 2 hours. Rather then adjusting the alarm time, I just pick "2 hours" from a list.
Within an hour, I had a reply back from the developer that he likes the ideas and plans to put them in the next release! I love the Palm community.

That is awesome! Yes, you are right in your wishes also! I have many times set alarms in Treoalarm and one week later my Treo is going off and I don't know why! But I will maintain, as far as something to retrieve the weather, I have yet to come across anything that gives as much detail as TA! Most of the others can be handy in that they can plug into other apps, but icons don't always cut it when you really need to see a forecast! That feature along with the ability to turn the Treo's radio on/off is what really sold me on this app! The additional features that you suggested will only make it better!!! I can't wait!

Still i have a question for you or anyone else that can help. Just downloaded treo alarm and I think its pretty cool, but I cant for the life of me figure out how to bring out the icons. Also the page or theme is somewhat boring, but the info is right on par! Can someone tell me how soup this thing up?

Thanks

I downloaded the "blue" icons that was an option for me when downloading. These were quite a bit nicer than the ones that were standard with the program. Its not visually fancy, is it?

It is aactually nice to have weather when you need it. The alarm feature seems to almost take the place of what butler used to do for me. Last question where could I go to start a blog and write a review of this thing?

Most people start a blog at blogger.com Its popular and gets quite a bit of traffic. WordPress.com would be my choice! I have used a lot of blogging software and really like the wordpress stuff. Its what I install on the vps servers I lease! Also, you might want to check out u*blog for the palm. Its a freeware blogging program to allow you to post to your blog from the treo. I just put a VideoCast on my blog the other day featuring it . .

Enjoy my Tennessee Accent!
