I hear alot of you talking about backup buddy. I'm looking into purchasing it, but there are alot of versions. some say it wil back up to my memory card and some say to the pc. Can you just give your comments on which may be better for me as a 650 user just starting out?

I use both Backup Buddy (Hotsync backup) and Backup Buddy VFS (SD card backup). They come as part of Blue Nomad's Security Suite Plus. It all depends on how you work. If you have consistent access to your desktop or laptop, then Backup Buddy will be fine. If you spend a lot of time without the ability to Hotsync, then you'll want the VFS version. I like having both for the redundant backups.

Would you recommend the personal or prefessional version? I think i'll start off with the one from the desktop i guess.

If you just want a install-and-go solution, then go with Personal. The main advantage of the Pro version is advanced options which let you tweak your backup settings.
Update: this must be fairly new, apparently the Pro version of BackupBuddy includes the Personal version of BackupBuddyVFS...

I use both versions. I have never had to restore from the desktop version, but, for the first time today, while on the road, I did a hard reset and restored from my SD card. saved my butt. Good product.
