Hello all i'm new to your site and new to treo family. I got a vast load of info from here, some things I can't find answers to are the following.

1. Any program to use a custom ring as the ringer who's calling will hear instead of just hearing the normal ring?

2. Do you recommend doing the upgrade to 1.13 or "if it's broke don't fix it"?

3. When downloading games is there away to put them all in a folder call games?

4. while just playing around w/ the sync I accidently sync my entire job contact, so 1 by 1 I had to delete it. I checked so many sites and the help guides, is there away to view the contact or phone # once I sync it on to the desktop so this way I can make edits and change and then sync it back to the phone?

You can assign ringtones to a specific caller. After you add them to a "favorites" button, click edit favorite - from there you can edit their "personal" ringtone. If you want to add MP3 ringtones and have more robust features, you'd need a ringtone manager such as Ringo Pro (see Review) or mRing.

With any firmware update, you might see some improvements and others are "under the hood". Before adding software, etc, it might be worthwhile to upgrade your firmware.

Within your applications, you can set categories. Click the HOME button, then select the dropdown menu where it says ALL. You probably have a default section called Games.

You can set your conduit to Desktop overwrites Treo and then switch back to a "pure" sync where changes in either will be reflected on the other.

Chris helped you nicely with customized ringtones that you hear, but I think what you want is called a ringback tone (Verizon) or an answer tone (Cingular). (I don't know what Sprint calls them because their website is too obnoxious to have a handy search box.) This is where the caller hears a custom ringer while waiting for you to answer. This is available as a subscription service through your wireless provider since it's a modification of your carrier's service, not your phone.

As Chris stated, just press the Menu button (above the Mail button) and select "Category..." under the "App" menu. Then assign any/all appllications to whatever category you want. If a "Games" category isn't there, create it by going to "Edit Categories..." at the bottom of the Category pulldown menu, tap the "New" button, and create it.

Power user tip:
For directory-level customization, you can arrange your directory however you want (with some restrictions) using handy 3rd party utils like Filez, which I love 'cause its also free. You'll probably want a launcher app like ZLauncher or some equivalent which can use aliases/shortcuts to point your Treo to where you're put your apps. Most of these launchers also have directory management capabilities.

The ring back is exactly what I was referring to. Sprint offers it now and I paid 2.50 for 1 ring that will exp. you have to get the ring and then type in the phone # you want it to work for. I have my own program to make my ringers so I don't feel I should have to pay to get what I can do for free.
