Beyond Contacts

This is my first post. Thanks for your help in advance. Is there any way to make Beyond Contacts the default contact manager on the 650? It works fine, but the short cuts default to the palm contact manager. The caller ID is from the palm contact manager and not beyond contacts. I would rather not copy Beyond Contacts to the palm manager since everything did not make the transition.

Hi Ben,
I know that Outlook must be your default email application for it to work, but you may have to go to the DataViz web site and sign in for tech support and see if they can help you. Although many people use Outlook for contacts, they might not all be using it for email. Good luck!

Thanks for the response. I use Outlook as my contact manager and for my email on my laptop. I am currently using Versamail for email on my 650. I don't know if that makes any sense or not. Dataviz's solution to my problem is to use a patch from them to copy the contacts in Beyond Contacts to the Palm default database. I am not interested in that solution. Any other thoughts???...

Hi Ben,
Mmmm, I dunno. The patch seems like a good idea but....What exactly do you want? Versa or Oulook? Scap eveything and go to Mozilla! Just kidding. You will need to settle for one and go with that!
I use the conacts in my Treo as my main source of data. This is both for on and off the computer. I went through a couple of different Palms until I got the Treo and before that was a Sharp that, thank God I could simply merge the contacts to Palm. That is what I need now, just a local source of data and from that, either by pen or email. I am able to write to my contacts.
I have seen a fellow worker's Outlook crash on him and I do not use it as a main source of contacts.
