Well, I believe you will find a Treo forum partial to a Treo, much like the BB forum is partial to it . . I have never owned a BB, but did briefly consider it. The main reason I went with a Treo 650 over WM or BB was my experience with other Palm PDAs. Treo Resets can be a real thing depending on applications installed. And lets face it, there is a vast amount of software available for the Treo, compared to BB. Versamail on the Treo for whatever reason is a pile of junk! Give that one to BB in a hurry! However, I am using Chatteremail as a third party app, and have "push" pretty close to what many BB owners rave about! BT is weak in a Treo 650. Headset volume issues exist in the Treo, and I have read other places, that early BB units had poor HS volume. The 700 P should address this issue (we hope) Now, I don't know just how versatile a BB is nowadays, but I believe that one should go to the Treo. Things that I do often with a Treo?
(not a complete list)
- Listen to MP-3's
- Stream audio feeds
- Watch Movies and shows via TCPMP
- Its my alarm clock
- Its how I check weather
- I IM my buds on ICQ Yahoo, etc
- Text messages
- Its my schedule with outlook
- Its how I read the latest news articles
- I check all my email from the Treo, and many times respond
- I use it to find directions and phone numbers
- I take little family videos and share with other family
- Open and edit Office Documents from it occasionally
- I use it as a modem with my laptop when there is no other means of accessing the net
- I occasionally update my blog from it
- I play a game every now and then.
- Its the only phone I own
You will probably find that it really comes down to what you want. The Treo might be better in the fact that it is more Versatile, but the BB does do email/IM really well. And lets not forget, that the 700 P is right around the corner with more RAM/ROM. If you are truely looking to leave the BB platform, for the Palm, I would certainly recommend you consider the 700 P.
