I have been using Palms for the past 5 years or so... But my last Palm (M515) prior to my Treo650 did something odd every once in a while. Right on top of the date a Blinking * would appear. It would not go away until I did a hard reset.
Now my Treo is doing the same thing. Does anyone have a clue what the cause of it is and how to cure it? With the Treo, it seems to go away at times when I plug into the Cradle and Sync (but not always).
you have had the Palm so long and never figured it out ???? Perhaps you should buy a Motorola the blinking astericks is undicated missed call / voicemail/ message you have to click on it it will show you the details than selecting the tick box next to you to discard it Easy Peasy

Hi,
use your stylus and touch the blinking star. It means you have a voice message.
Once I realized what that '*' was, you like when it shows up, esp if you missed a call or a meeting........................assuming your meeting alarm wasnt activated!!!
