    Default Bluetooth for 650

I have been reading all the feedback on Bluetooth selection on the forum for the 650 and it seems like the Sony Ecricsson HBH 660 is highly rated. The folks at Verizon told me that I should choose a Bluetooth that is compatiable from their list on the Palm Web Site. I see they have listed the Sony Ericsson but not the HBH 660. They list the HBH-200, HBH-35 and the HBH-65. So with Verizon will I be getting the same quality others are getting if I do buy the HBH 660 and why have they not listed it on their compatibility list? I really want one that will work well with no issues.

    Thanks

From what I have read on the forums and even my own experience, BT seems to be hit or miss on a Treo. If you like the style of that sony HBH 660, I would go somewhere that had it, pair it with your Treo and test drive it right there in the store! Compare it with other BT HS and see which you like best. I have heard really positive things about this HS from Plantronics. I am currently using a Moto HS 850. I read terrible things about it, but it has been flawless with my 650! But I am considering that Plantronics, simply for its design. I like the pen sheath that comes with it, the abililty to recharge on the fly, and the fact that it vibrates on incoming calls . . One thing is for certain! I won't buy that plantronics until I test drive one!

What seems to work for one, doesn't for another!
There is some very good info in the bluetooth category here in the forums

I have tried the Jabra BT250v, the Motorola H3, the Motorola HS850 and the Plantronics Discovery 640 in the last week. I liked the feel of the Jabra, but I would get static when it was on my waist or in my pocket...so, not acceptable. Both of the Motorola's worked fine with little to no static within 10 ft...however, they are somewhat hard to hear in anything but a quiet environment. I'm currently trying the Plantronics and I'm liking what I'm seeing. No static at all up to 10 ft...a little static up to 20 ft....and more beyond that...but I'm never over 20 ft from my phone...at least not much. The sound quality is EXCELLENT as it is an earpiece that fits in your ear. We'll see how it goes, but I'm impressed so far. It's a little pricey at $99.99 in the Cingular Store. I plan on trying this one out for a week and if I like it, I'll buy it in Ebay for around $50. You can do that with just about any bluetooth headset, just make sure of the store's return policy.

    BigDog -

I have the Plantronics Discovery 640, and like it. It does have problems with wind noise on the microphone. Note that the Plantronics linked above is the newer 645, which includes DSP for windnoise. Haven't read any reviews +/-, just a heads up that there is a new model.
