    Default Bluetooth Headset Question ....

    Hey Guys,

I just got my Treo 650 today. I bought it on Ebay for $400. It came with a 1GB SD Card, a Jabra BT250 Bluetooth Headset, the hotsync cable, car charger and a wall charger.

Man, am I loving it. The phone has now been activated and is ready to go. I'm currently playing with it trying to learn as much as I can. Boy can this thing do a lot. It's unbelievable! Though I do find the qwerty keyboard keys kind of small. Yeah I have fat fingers. Not that I am complaining.

I warned you folks that as soon as I get my Treo, the questions will begin. So here we go ... LOL...

Q: I am currently using a Jabra BT250 bluetooth headset. I noticed some static while on a call earlier. 1st. Does the phone signal's strength also affect the headset? 2nd. What BT headset do you guys recommend?

Q: I'm so used to my Palm VX. If and when I want to, how can I use graffitti on my Treo? Maybe I haven't learned it yet, but everytime I enter data, I mostly have to use the qwerty keys.

Q: What do I need to be able to sync MS Outlook?

Thats all for now. I'm sure there'll be more soon. Thanks in advance for your help!

The Jabra is a fine headset. There are as many opinions as there are headsets, so search these forums for this thoroughly-addressed topic. Phone signal strength has nothing to do with headset static (unless your Treo itself has static!); the former is your wireless carrier's signal and the latter is the Treo's Bluetooth signal. Try wearing the Jabra and the Treo on the same side of your body. It sounds silly but it often makes a difference.

As far as I know, there is no native graffiti on the Treo 650. There is a third party app called MobileWrite than can do the job. I tried it but found that I'd rapidly gotten used to the keyboard (and to not having to pull out the stylus all the time).

    Congrats.

i use the jabra bt250 and have no problems with it. i agree that the signal strength does nothing to the jabra and you just need to move the phone to a different part of your car or body. i don't know about the rest of you, but i don't even like holding the phone to talk! if i dont' have my headset to talk, i call back later!

You can install graffiti on your Treo..

You need MS Outlook (of course! ). Install Palm Destop Software and the MS outlook conduit that should be on the CD that came with you're treo and you're set to go!!!
