Bluetooth hot sync

I am going nuts here trying to get a second computer to sync with bluetooth to my 650. I keep getting a message that the port is in use by another app. This is BS I have changed ports renamed ports, created POrts I am a port monster. What am I missing? I have got the two setup as a trusted pair the port info matches, I have local and local usb checked in hot sync.

Any Ideas while I still have my hair?

Hey Plunker,

I am not a...well...guru (pardon the pun) but had the same trouble when I installed a new device to my PC; I lost my ability to sync BT. Let me ask some simple questions for my own understanding and please forgive me if they are simple ones.
1) Have you installed any new devices lately?
2) On what com port are you attempting to connect too?
3) Very simple (I'm sorry); Do you have the check mark next to Local in the hotsync tray? (I only ask, because I did not.)
4) Do you see any other device on the same port in the device manager.

No new devices on this PC. I have just converted to a mac and use missing sync with bluetooth. I can sync with the cable to this pc. I have installed the bluetooth usb and it works or at least it will pair.
I have tried different com ports even renaming a port from com 1 to another. Then assigned com 1 to bluetooth. anyway com 1, 5,6,8. same results.
I have local and (I believe local usb)
I have looked in device manager and there are no conflicts. I use a usb mouse,keyboard, and bluetooth device. At different times I have hooked up a camera and my hot sync cable.

I do have bluetooth install on a few ports while I am trying to get it to work.

happened to me too

the culprit of this is the bluetooth popup dialog that failed to pop up after receiving request from treo


right after your treo send hotsync notification, right away check the Bluetooth icon on your PC (should be right on icontray near the clock),

if the 'B' turn blueish, then double click on it,

then after the dialog box pop up, allow the communication between your treo and your PC.
