    Default Boosting signal strength

    Hello Everyone,

I have a unique situation I am hoping someone has a suggestion for. I consult a small retail business that is going to be located inside a shopping mall. I lose signal and can't complete calls or emails. Living on my Treo, I hate the thought of being out of touch.

Has anyone had experience boosting signal or using an external antenna? I realize its a long shot, but worth asking.

    Thanks,

    Hi:

On late night TV they advertise signal boosters. Because it is on TV, they must be good, right?

Seriously, I have never seen any kind of product that will boost your signal, but if you do find something that works, please be sure to post here.

    Good luck,

Thanks for post. If I find something, I'll definatly post it. I would have to believe there is a way.

On the back the Treo, there are two rubber covers, one small at the base of the antenna and a larger one which hides a jack of some sort. I would believe that it is a place to put an external antenna based on the position. On a very older cell phone, I had this connector and was able to put an antenna on my car and plug it into the phone to get better reception. I would suspect this is the same on the Treo.

Does anyone have any experience with this type of connector?

    Thanks again,

    Hi Again:

The small rubber hides the set screw to disassemble the antenna. You might be right about the larger one. Looks like it is some type of very small port, but I don't have experience with it.

    Let us know...
