That sucks. There's a guy who visits the forums who sells Treo 600 parts. I replied to one of his posts to see if he has any insight on 650 parts. His site is treoparts.com.
Let us know if you have any luck finding a replacement. I'm sure you're not the first or the last to have done this.

I know it's too little too late for you, PartyDovid, but to everyone else- Get your cell provider's "full coverage" replacement plan for your Treo! The basic coverage will replace any malfunction-related problems, but the full coverage will replace all components & accessories should they get damaged in situations such as stated above.
Best of luck in getting yours repaired at a low cost, PD. Try eBay maybe? Or try using Google's "Froogle" link.

Get your cell provider's "full coverage" replacement plan for your Treo!
The problem is Cingular will not insure the Treo.

Broken 650
Bear with me, this may be a long two-sided story:
I acquired the 600 in November 2003 at Best Buy (along with $80 replacement policy), a few months after it became available with Sprint service. About a half a year ago, it became inoperable (screen, 4 main function buttons etc). I used the Best Buy replacement policy and to my good fortune they replaced it with whatever was currently available - the new Treo 650!!! Yea!!!
However, about 5 weeks ago that unit (650) suffered a terrible mishap (was dropped) and the lcd screen crashed and burned (was toast). I again dealt with Best Buy and they shipped a 'replacement unit'. Being my impatient self and not wanting to wait a week, I wandered to my local Sprint store and the awesome sales guy convinced me that my best bet was to purchase/activate a monthly $4 replacement policy and they could replace my 650 on the spot. I was sold - I could always deal with Best Buy's replacement when it arrived - and walked out with a new (actually refurbished) 650 up and running. All was well.
About 5 days later my Best Buy replacement arrived on my doorstep - but check this out - it was a refurbished 600!!! Like I could use a 650 for months and months and then revert back to a 600?!?!? I called and that is their policy - to replace the ORIGINAL unit (600) with whatever is available (in this case another 600). I DON'T THINK SO. Of course I sent it back, since the Sprint guy already replaced my 650 with another 650 for $4.
Wait - this gets better....
New Year's Eve we have another mishap... my 650 gets dropped again, plus I lose my battery!!! (don't ask how....) Two days later I go BACK to the Sprint store. The same awesome sales guy orders up a new 650 unit and a battery. 3 days later I go back to the Sprint store, I receive a BRAND NEW 650 and battery, plus they beam my contacts to get me started. I am fully satisfied...
Moral of the story - screw Best Buy and their replacement contracts. Hang with Sprint and the $4/month charge and build a good relationship with a knowledgeable sales person. Plus, don't drop this fragile unit....
End of story....

Wow, you sure made out. Glad it all worked out well for you. Good to hear there's at least one knowledgeable, helpful Sprint guy out there. Now, if you can just convince him to move to Columbia, SC....
