Default Buttons Difficult to Press

I am having trouble with some buttons (particularly the L, O, and K) becoming difficult to press. They always work, however, I can definitely feel a difference (a bad one) when pressing those (and a few others on that side) vs. the other keys. It is like they are getting stuck, or are dirty underneath.

Anyone have similar experience or know of a fix? Is it possible, or recommended, to clean the keypad, maybe by taking the phone apart? Does Palm perform such a service? Or Verizon (my carrier)?

Thanks much!!

I bought the phone from someone on ebay. They said they only had it for a few months. I bought it about two weeks ago.

Could you please explain how to use the contact cleaner?

Thanks!

Verizon told me that when you get the phone new, all the buttons are equally hard to press. And that they are all hard to press. That as you use the buttons, the supporting pieces wear down (or wear in) and make pressing them easier.

Since the buttons that are harder to press on my phone are the ones that are not used as often ("o", ".", "l") they said that probably they just haven't been worn in as much, yet.

Can anyone please confirm that when you have the phone new, that the buttons are harder to press then say, after having it for a few months.

It makes sense. Just looking for confirmation.

Thanks!

Yep, I have to agree.... I've never noticed any difference in the key pressure... and I have been trying to notice after reading the original post....
