Calendar Alarm sound cuts out

I am new to this forum because I just got a 650 for work. For some reason the alarm sound cuts out when the LCD turns on. So I just get the first tone or two on the sound bite or ringer. Can't tell you how many alerts I missed altogether because of this. Any ideas on a fix? Did not see anything on this using search.

Is anything touching your screen when the alarm starts (LCD turns on)? I have a leather case that covers the front of my phone and snaps under the bottom. Sometimes when my case is closed (or open and touching the screen) the alarm shuts off right away. Another thing that could be causing this is the way your screen protector (if you use one) is mounted. If the corners or the sides of the screen protector have managed to find thier way wedged between the screen and the outside edges of your housing, then the pressure from the housing pressing down on the protector would fool your phone into thinking you have hit the touchscreen. Hope this helps!

I thought you had the solution there. I do indeed use a case that has a plastic cover over the entire face. but it does it when I take it out of the case too.

What I am finding out is that the alarm only plays a fraction of the tune until the LCD comes on...and then quits. Not only that, but the next regular phone call I get and there is no sound. No vibration and no sound. Then the next phone call I get is regular sound. So it must be something with the calendar alarm that is corrupting the entire sound of the phone.

That is quite the problem. The first thing I would try is a soft reset. If it still does it then I would back everything up, do a hard reset and reload everything back onto the Treo. If that still didn't work, then I would take it back and get a new one. You could call the support number, but they would probably just tell you to try the reset thing.
