Exclamation calender info lost during hotsync

all calender entries on desktop erased at last hot sync. This is not the 1st time that I have had calender erasing problems. 6 months ago all calender entries were erased on the desktop and the device! I've been on the phone with Palm Tech Suport for hours.- hard reset - uninstalling- installing new software etc. etc. Very leery to input more events - I need a reliable PDA. Had PDA since 2005. Thinking of upgrading to newer version (which one would be recommended?) but worried that current problems will transfer to new Palm. Also, should I delete 3rd part application of "Holidates" from Handango- maybe this is interferring?

I like the 755p over the 650 I used to use. Sync problems can happen with any phone. I invested about $10-15 in backbuddy which saves everything to my card. I little more money and the next version will save everything to your pc. Though I think I can transfer or copy the backup from my card to the pc.

I do a backup before I sync and then after I am sure everything is there I will do another one. That way you will not lose data or worry about a bad syncing feeling....haha

When you hot sunk, I suggest using something like "device over writes desktop." Plunker's suggestion about Backupbuddy is good advice. In addition, a device based backup solution is also something worth looking at. There are a couple of good applications - I use Resco Backup and NVBackup is a good free one.

You might also look at an application similar to NorthGlide's "OnGuard Backup" - an application that is designed to backup user specified applications and files upon exiting the specified application. Resco Backup also has an option that does the same basic job, just takes a little bit longer.

Not sure if this is the correct way to reply -never done this B4. Thnks for all of the backup info - I will use it. Does it sound like I have a defective Treo 650 or perhaps corrupt data? If I upgrade to 755p- possibility that the 650 data will corrupt new 755p and that I would have same problems? Thnks

You betch ya, Steve

My treo every once in a while seems not to sync of not sync the calender with my pc. Usually I have it to sync devices. To get it to work I set it like Ben said for handheld to overwrite.

FYI I just upgraded to the 755p and all my info transferred just fine.
