Camera application - Treo Forums

Hi, I am having a problem with the camera aplpication. I can open it and take a picture. I can then save it. If I try to open the picture, by tapping on the box with the 4 small squares, I get a screen that says This application is designed to only run on Palm (tm) handhelds. If I click on the OK button it then dumps me on the Preferences page (where you can change date & time formats, communications, personal setting etc. Does anyone have any idea on this?

Hello Larry,

I'm guessing you were previously syncing to another Palm handheld and that your old user data has migrated onto the Treo. You need to do a clean install, and then your photo gallery will work as intended. I recommend reading the guide found here: http://discussion.brighthand.com/pal...threadid=75197
Especially take note of step three. I had the exact same problem you did. Start from scratch, and you'll be so much happier with your Treo. Hope this works for you. Let us know how it turns out!

Hi Christopher, thanks that worked. Actually what I ended up doing is a hard reset. Then I dragged the backup folder to my desktop and then hot synched. I did pull a few programs out of that file that I had paid for. Thanks for your help!

Sounds like its a done deal here, but wanted to let you know, I experienced the same thing! It picked up my profile from my Tungsten E install. I started over with a clean install, and haven't looked back. What makes it so bad is, when I went to install the Treo software, and asked for a profile, there was my name sitting there in the profile. I didn't think a thing about it, until I noticed my camera couldn't save a picture . . . .
