| Can I turn "OFF" the text message "receipt"? I do a lot of text messaging, and sometimes I'm in a place where I'd like it to not be so obvious. I really do want to set custom tones for each INCOMING text message but I would like to get rid of the sound the phone makes each time my outgoing text is sent and/or received by the recipient. I've checked and checked for a place to turn that off..... not finding it. Can someone steer me in the right direction?
Thanks.

Thanks. | Go to Prefs, then select Messaging under Applications at the top. Under volume, you can select the volume you want and whether or not you want it to vibrate with sound on or off.

| Thanks, but I don't have a "Messaging" options under Preferences. I have "Sounds and Alerts" and I do go in there and choose which tone and how loud I want my SMS's to be, but I would like to be able to turn off the sound when I SEND messages. I would like to only hear them when I RECEIVE messages. Is that possible? I send a text message, and then seconds (or sometimes a minute) later I hear the tone. I assume it's an incoming reply, but it's always just my message going out, or being received, not sure which.

Sue | That's a new one on me. Maybe it's specific to your provider. I have Sprint and I don't get any tone for an outgoing SMS. Sorry I couldn't help.
