Thank you!
Edit favorites page. Your the best. Drag and Drop.
Thanks for the quick response too.

Hey, cool.. didn't know you could do that.. I'd been reassigning an existing button through "edit favorites button," then recreating the old one in a different place the same way.. drag n' drop is much easier.Originally Posted by JosieNutter

Thanks! That works. I've just acquired a Treo 650 and am learning my way around it. The Call Log problem was just one of the frustrations I've found. Two others are: 1) i have never been successful in getting a redial list. I've tried all of the suggestions above, pressed send, then pressed again--nothing happens except the screen flickers and repaints the phone keys. 2) as I understand it, when the screen times out, I should be able to wake it up by hitting any key--doesn't happen. I've recently learned that hitting the red phone key does wake it up, although I have to hit the key guard button again to hold it. I don't think I'm doing anything incorrectly, so I'm mystified. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Hi Hank:
You have to hit any of the four Application buttons to wake up the screen and then the center button to turn off the screen lock. You can't just hit any button, but I am sure there is software to do that.

Thanks, Steve. The application keys do wake up the screen, but also take me to the respective application, rather than simply leaving me at the application I was working on when the screen went off. But I see now that I misinterpreted something in the manual: the "any key" feature only works during a phone call. Then any key EXCEPT Power/End will work. When the phone is OFF, Power/End is the only key that will bring back the application I was working on at the time. I should have read the manual more carefully. Thanks for setting me on the right track.
I'm still mystified by the failure to get a Redial List, however.

I have (well had) a Sprint 650 and my soft favorite buttons already had Call Log assigned to one. I deleted all of my already installed Favorite buttons anyway except for Voicemail and Call Log, and set it to only show one row of buttons. Made the key pad area bigger and more clean looking.

Hi Hank:
I should have been more specific and you are correct. Pressing any of the application buttons will bring up that app and the only way to wake up the screen in the same app you were using at nap time is to use the red Power/End button.
Regarding your inability to bring up the Recently Dialed list, that is an odd one. Who is your carrier (that will tell us if it is a CDMA or GSM) and is the phone locked to that carrier or is it an unlocked phone being used with that carrier? I am with Sprint (CDMA) and when my main phone pad/dialer screen is active all I have to do is press and release the green Phone/Send button once and the Recently Called box appears. The first two choices on the list are Call Log and Dial Pad followed by the numbers I have dialed and can be selected to redial. If I press and hold the green key the Treo will redial the last number I called.
That does not happen with yours?
All the carriers make customized changes to Treo features that they deem necessary or important. Some may be better at it than others. Eliminating the Recently Called list would be a strange choice to me, but hey, I don't own a telephone company. Maybe I don't get the big picture. Perhaps another customization they did inadvertently eliminated the list.
In any case the earlier posts seemed to reference tMobile service as having the issue. As I understand it their phones were either unlocked Cingular or other GSM carriers since tMobile did not offer the 650. Maybe that had something to do with it?

Thanks, Steve. I've given up on the attempt to get a redial list from the native Treo, and instead installed TakePhone, a marvelous little piece of software that does redial, call logs, and a great deal else.
And you were right about the likelihood of finding software that would tame the autooff feature: You'll find some stuff on "NoAutoOff" here: http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...d.php?t=114276. Works like a charm.
Thanks again,
Hank
