Do I need to use realplayer, ptunes, mocean, or another application to sync the cd's music into a file that can be read by palm treo?
You'll need to convert the music on the cd's into .mp3 files, a very widely-recognized standard music format. Common music programs like RealPlayer can do that.
Once you've got the mp3's, you can get them onto your SD card a few different ways:
1. hotsync (not recommended for large amounts of music files)
2. via a USB card reader (you can get them cheap, if you don't have one or your computer didn't come with one installed)
3. via a 3rd-party app called Card Export II, which lets your computer recognize the SC card when your Treo's connected to the computer
