changing username

I recently bought a Treo 650 gently used and I love it. I had it activated under my account(I use Sprint by the way) and everything works fine except that I haven't been able to switch the username from the previous user to my name. Can anyone help me with this

Have you been syncing with your desktop? If not, then a simple hard reset will bring the Treo back to it's default state (and erase personal data). You will still have the software that came with the Treo, but all of your data and the previous owners will be erased.

1. How do I perform a hard reset, and will that effect my sprint connectivity
2. I downloaded a call tone, but no one can hear it when they call and when I log into my sprint.com from my pc it doesn't show on my downloads

Ring tones are what you hear when someone calls, not what they hear.

As Kreth said, a ring tone is what you hear. They are purchaseable, but with a little know-how you can do a lot for free.
What you were expecting, where the caller hears a unique ring while waiting for you to answer, does exist. Sprint calls them "call tones" and it's a paid service (natch).

Call tones is not controlled or downloaded to the treo. Sprints equiptment control and play whatever tone you bought from them for the caller to hear. My son had one but called back and had it removed from our bill. The sound quality was terrible to the caller.

Your phone settings with sprint should still be there after a hard reset.
