If any of you use Google Talk or Gmail Chat, you might be interested in Chatopus. I downloaded it for the free trial, and it works perfectly. Only drawback is it doesn't work in the background (something to do with SSL ...), but it's great for my needs. If you are interested, check it out at www.chatopus.com.

If you like Chatopus, check out the latest version 2.1, it adds text-to-speech by supporting SymbicTalker.

It may be one of the 1st mobile IM application to have text-to-speech.

Chatapus sounds really great! I have never tried it, but might check it out sometime. I currently use IM+! It supports AIM, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, googletalk and Jabber. It will run in the background, however, I have to shut down Chatter first. 6 IMAP accounts and IM+ running at the same time makes my 650 do lots of weird things. As long as Chatter is offline, IM+ works great! I hate the sounds it makes when you get an IM, but its a solid performer!
