There also seems to be a glitch with the documents to go software. If you are set up with Versamail to use exchange active sync, you can't open attachments. If your using POP or IMAP, attachments open fine. I've an open call with PalmOne about this and they haven't gotten back to me in about 2 weeks.
I also have a problem with this Treo where if I put an SD card in and try to format it, i get an error saying "invalid name". I know that the SD card works as i use it in my IPAQ. The Treo will play MP3's off of the card, but won't save anything to it.
I get various sync errors when using the messaging program when i have full signal. There's no logic as to when it will and will not work. If it were even 90% consistant, i woudln't complain, but I just gave up on using a lot of the data features the phone offers.
Mind you, As I stated in my original post, this is happening to every Treo that my company purchased. I've called Cingluar and their tech support was horrible. They were unable to tell me anything that wasn't already in the Userguide then told me to call PalmOne. Calling PalmOne was a waste of time as well. The entire time I was trying to have him help me with my Exchange Active sync issue, he was trying to get POP mail to work.
At this point, I'm probably going to take it back and purchase a Siemens SX66. If there's one good thing about Microsoft, they make their own products work well with each other.
We (tech team at my company) are evaluating several smart phones and while it seems that the Treo makes a better phone, the SX66 makes a better PDA and for my needs (email syning to an exchange 2003 server) a better choice overall. |
