Folks, anyone who has researched the Treo 600/650 knows that the design is physically fragile - it can't handle a drop onto a hard floor. I have a buddy who's working on his 5th Treo 600 in 1 year, 3 of them due to his dropping it, but Sprint (and I checked; also Verizon) offer damage insurance.

I have had my Treo 600 for almost 8 months. I dropped it once or twice, but never had a problem. I don't agree that it's physically fragile. I use a Vaja case with Boxwave screenprotector. I also care for it as if it were a $600 device. That being said, I also try and watch my iPod and that's taken several falls. Luckily, I haven't had a problem with either.
I see why they cannot offer insurance. If they offered insurance at $10 per month, I doubt they'd get too many takers. I certainly wouldn't sign up. I would sign up at $5 per month. As phones start to offer more and more features, they are going to need an insurance option for adopter's of this technology. I wonder if they offer insurance on the Motorola Razr? That appears to be an expensive phone?
