    Default Compatible Email Servers

    Hello all. I need a little help.

    I have had my same hotmail account for a long time, and when I got my 650, Hotmail informed me that they could not provide me with my server name and that Hotmail pretty much didn't work with any palm devices. I can undertand why I guess....

    I just want to set up my versamail and need to know any information anyone can give me about which mail service to go through. Who would this be easy with? Yahoo?

    Keep in mind that I know very little about what I'm doing, but would greatly apreciate any help.

    The problem with getting Hotmail is that it is a web mail that doesn't provide the standard ways to retrieve the email from an email application. There two primary methods for retrieving email.

    POP3
    IMAP

    Most internet service providers provide you email that you retrieve via POP3. There is one way for sending out email.

    SMTP

    With all that said, there are a couple of email applications that say they support retrieving webmail.

    OneMail.ToGo
    GopherKing
    HeatMail

    Yahoo is one of many options. I use them. Be advised, 2 or 3 years ago, Yahoo started charging for POP3 forwarding. I pay $29/yr, I think.
