Condolences to my Treo650!

Well, my TREO650, which has been my constant companion for the last 4 years, has died. Sunday morning, it wouldn't turn on, though it did earlier that morning.

I've completely charged it. If i pull the battery out of it and put it back in, it starts to turn on. The screen then fades and the whole thing shuts down. Occasionally, it actually goes through the cycle of powering all the way on. BUT THEN! The screen starts to go haywire. It starts to scroll, either from top to bottom, bottom to top, side to side, it's all the same. No buttons work. Now and then the screen will stop, but it shows the top half of the screen on the bottom and the bottom on the top, or the top third of the screen on the bottom, the middle third on top....well, you get the picture.

Has anyone ever seen this happen before? Am I correct that my TREO650 has met its demise or has news of its death been greatly exaggerated?

Any help is greatly appreciated. If it's in fact dead, I'm on the waiting list for a CENTRO at my AT&T store!

i put a new battery in about two months ago, did a hard reset, and have plugged it into the wall charger. it still doesn't power on!

Well I guess you could investigate getting it fixed, perhaps it needs a new motherboard? But, the parts and labor and price of fixing it, well - perhaps it is time to upgrade. I feel your pain, the 650 is an awesome phone. But if a hard reset won't nudge it to life............. I just went from a 650 to a 755. Glad I made the jump.
