in contact preferences if listed by last name, first name when you type in letters you get all contacts based on the letters,

if preferences are changed to Company,last name and you start typing it sorts by last name and not the company........so how do i search for the person in the company when i only know the company - without scrolling all the way through the list of contacts ?

Can't help with a solution unfortunately. I have been searching different forums for answers to this myself. Given all previous Palm devices I have owned have this search capability, I am surprised the 650 doesn't do it.

Anybody out there have any ideas how to search the contact database by company name???

The global find feature on the 650 might solve this problem. While in contacts, press the Option key (far left bottom button), then the Shift/Find key (lower row left button) and enter the company name. There is a slight delay while it searches the database, but at least you don't have to add a third party application. Feedback on how this works for others would be great.
