Contact with Multiple Numbers - Treo Forums

Does anyone know if you can set up a contact that has several people with their numbers, so you can enter just a name and text them all same time. I just want to be able to enter a name like "group", put my text in and then send out and it goes to several people at the same time.

If not, is there software you can download on your Treo?

There is an unsupported application from Palm called "Group Text Messaging." The file is attached as a zip.

I LOVE Group textmessaging! I use it often! Although I am encouraging my family to migrate to Twitter (http://twitter.com) I am finding it a great way to send out a text to a large group of people, and also for them to text me back. I either use the messaging program, IM+ or if at my computer, googletalk, or the web interface. Its not Treo specific, but the text feature within the Treo, makes it very twitter friendly.

yes.

i have posted this on a thread somewhere.

basically set up a new contact named "whatever"

on a single MOBILE entry enter all the numbers separating them by carriage return (ie on separate lines)

go to SMS and under lookup find "whatever", press enter and hey presto, as requested!

also works for email if you use separator <;> before 2nd, 3rd etc emails

I created a contact named test and put a few numbers under a single mobile entry and it does not display as an available contact. This is on a Sprint Treo 700p.

can't help you there. i'm on a 650 but works perfectly for me.

Ben I am on sprint also. I set up a contact and it would not show up either. Then I changed two things and they show up now. One is I added a last and first name to to the contact. I also changed the heading the numbers were under to mobile from work.

The name had nothing to do with it. I just changed the field with those numbers to mobile and the contact shows up.....I have a test email out there now.

It works for me. Not sure if I need it though.
