    Default Contacts issue

    Good morning folks:

I am having an issue with my contacts. I can't find them on my Treo 650. Gone.
Well, I have all the numbers in my outlook contacts folder , however when I sync the contacts do not appear on my phone.
I tried typing a few of them into the palm desktop software and those appear when I sync, but I can't type all of them in, ( close to 300 names plus email).

    Can anyone help me?

It sounds like you are setup to sync with palm desktop and not outlook. Do your other outlook things sync? (calendar, memos etc) If not.

When you loaded your software (palm desktop) on the pc you should have got a prompt to sync with outlook or palm desktop. You need to reload the software.

The other outlook items do not sync.
I reinstalled the software and tried again. I selected the second option to sync with both palm and outlook. Still the same issues. I can see my contacts in the outlook contacts folder but they don't show up on my phone.

Do I need a hard reset or some sort of a reset?

What does your Hotsync log say?

The problem was not with the hotsync. The pst folder in my outlook was located in the wrong place and the synching couldn't locate it. Here's how I solved it:

I entered a new contact on the phone and run hotsync, noticed where it was sent to in outlook. Repeated from outlook and discovered it showed up on the phone.

I then copied the .pst folder with all my address and numbers to that folder and synched again and it was all good.

Thanks to y'all that took time out to help. Good looking out!!

    Have a nice day.

Glad you figured it out and got back with us. Good work and something that may prove helpful to others in a spot such as you were.
