Contacts list problem

Hello everyone,

I have a unlocked GSM treo. The problem i am having is all the contacts are repeated in the list i.e. all contacts appear twice in the list. When i bought the phone i was experimenting with it and was searching for the option most of the nokia phone's have (copy contacts from sim) but i did something wrong. And now when I select the option of show sim card phonebook all the contacts appear thrice.

If i reset the phone will it erase the contacts on the phone? how much is the phone memory by itself? I have all the contacts on sim card. is there any way i can erase them from the phone and then that way i can have them only once when i select the show sim phone book.

the contacts that are from your sim card have a small card icon beside them. I am guessing that you copied the sim card to your contacts list one time too many by mistake? You can hide the sim card by going to options/preferences and unchecking "show SIM Phonebook. But that still doesn't help you on the duplicates. Resetting the phone will not delete the contacts that reside on the SIM card. But if it were me, I would delete any duplicates from Outlook (assuming you are syncing with Outlook) and then sync your device. Make sure your hotsync conduit is set to "syncronize the files", or you could set it one time to "desktop overwrites handheld".

Yes, i see the card icon next to the contacts that are on the sim card. however in my case i think i copied the contacts more than once from the sim card to the phone. So now i see the contacts thrice - twice on the phone and the third time because of the show sim phone book. :embarassed:

That happened to me LOL... and there was no other choise... i have to clear every single one of them so, lear the reapeated ones and that's all... the next time that you have to copy all your contacs from the SIM to the treo, when you do it, wait, cause this is a "slow process"
