If you have to do a hard reset on your treo your information can be loaded back from the backup option. I recommend using a backup program as well to protect your data.

A backup application - gosh, something that cannot be over looked more than 1 time. Backupbuddy Pro is a good application, though it has its own set of "interesting" issues. My personal preference though is to RELY upon a device based application that backs the device up to the card. Choices include NVBackup and Resco Backup, both of which do the basic operation flawlessly and are without equal. NVBackup is free, Resco Backup is pay. As a note, the developer of NVBackup had his hand in Resco Backup.

The bottom line though is to back up on a routine basis. There are 2 Centros, 1 700P and 1 800W in the family and each one uses a device based backup application to back the device up nightly.

Ok so im a little paranoid about installing one more application onto my treo 650 because as we all know its already a memory handicapped device. SO id like to keep as much of the RAM free. Does NV Backup run from an SD card ? If so i can try.

Nvbackup should have that info on their site or specs.

I agree with all here, get a backup program, the first time you have to hard reset away from home, and are able to restore your entire phone in 2 minutes time, you will find any moneys spent well worth it. I use and highly recommend Resco Backup and yes, it resides and runs from the card. It has to in order to survive a hard reset.
